HOPE

Is this not the one true emotion that the world or rather humanity revolves around.

But when does this emotion surface?

Is it when despair is no longer the little brother of rage, instead it takes over our darkest night?

Ever present, paralyzing the afterthought.

Could it be when the tears dry up, depleting the soul of all courage?

Or is the emotion as innocent as seen in the twinkle of a child’s eyes.

I believe hope is the essence of undefined faith.

Without hope, faith struggles to exist, and without faith, where does hope find its anchor?

They are brothers in arms, two sides of the same coin, inseparable and intertwined.

This belief came to life as I worked on Silver Lining.

Initially, my intent was simple: to use leftover paint. Yet, as with hope, simplicity often reveals hidden depths. In the first layer, the background was blurred, shapeless, offering no clarity—an apt metaphor for uncertainty.

Then came the second layer, and with it, calmness emerged: the sky blending seamlessly into the ocean, the waves tenderly meeting the shore.

A sense of serenity began to take hold.

But something felt incomplete.

I paused to reflect.

Did the sky need drama to reveal the silver lining?

Must despair always precede light?

That was the moment of realization: hope, like the silver lining, need not rely on darkness to shine.

It can exist independently, as quietly and beautifully as the innocence in a child’s gaze.

Silver Lining became more than a painting; it became a testament to the possibility of hope without despair.
